"Jerusalem" is the official hymn of the England and Wales Cricket Board, although "God Save the Queen" was the anthem sung before England's games in 2010 ICC World Twenty20, the 2010–11 Ashes series and the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.

About Jerusalem (Hymn) William Blake's short poem And Did Those Feet in Ancient Time is best known as the anthem "Jerusalem", which was set to music by Sir Hubert Parry in 1916. It was played at the royal wedding of Prince William and Princess Katherine in 2011. Lyrics for 'Jerusalem' (Hymn) And did those feet in ancient time

It is almost our national anthem; as popular at rugby internationals as it is at earnest Labour party conferences; it is universal in its appeal. It’s also more Jerusalem, my happy home, would God I were in thee! Would God my woes were at an end thy joys that I might see! The original manuscript in the British Museum, dated around 1583, is inscribed, “A song made by F. B. P. to the tune of DIANA.” The author is thought to have been a Catholic priest who based the hymn on the writings of St. Augustine.

Jerusalem hymn

Jerusalem! Hark! How the angels sing, Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna to your King!

Bring me my bow of burning gold! Bring me my arrows of desire! The history of the classic hymn 'Jerusalem' and its literary origins 'Jerusalem' is one of the most famous hymns around, a sort of alternative national anthem for England (and some, especially those of a republican persuasion, prefer it to 'God Save the Queen').

This hymn was translated from part of a satiric poem of almost three thousand lines, "De Contemptu Mundi" ("the contemptable world"), written around 1145 by the twelfth-century monk Bernard of Cluny. Not to be confused with Bernard of Clairvaux, Bernard of Cluny is thought to have been born in Murles, France, supposedly of English parents.
